Dogs are for life; we're always here to answer questions and help solve problems. Please be aware that by adopting a dog from WDR, you are making a commitment to provide love, care, and medical treatment for the life of the animal, which can be between 12-17 years. Adopting a dog is a serious commitment, but one that is rarely regretted! Please take this responsibility seriously. If you are unable to make such a commitment, please consider becoming a volunteer/foster instead.
Step 1: Research
Husky and herding breed dogs are truly unique and can be wonderful companions for the right person. Before making a decision, it's important to do your research and ensure that you're ready for the commitment of caring for one of these amazing dogs. Let's delve in and explore all the wonderful qualities of these dog breeds.
Step 2: Adoption Questionnaire
If you are considering adoption, please fill out the adoption questionnaire on this page. The questions may seem unusual, but they are crucial in helping us match you with the right dog. This breed is known for its unique traits, and we want to ensure it's a good fit for both you and the dog. ONLINE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE
Step 3: Phone Interview
Once we receive your questionnaire we will call you to answer any questions that you have or if we at WDR do have any, and also to make time to meet and greet the dog(s) you are interested in.
Step 4: Meet and Greet
We find it important to include your entire family when meeting a potential dog you’re considering for your family. We also encourage you to bring your own dog(s) to meet with a dog you may like, and see if they agree with a dog you like. This is especially important, because some of these dogs have had very difficult lives, and may not be comfortable with certain other dogs.
Step 5: Home Visit
If the Meet and Greet goes well and you want to adopt! then we will ask you to put a small deposit to hold the dog and that will go toward the adoption fee. Then we will go forward with the home visit. If you have no fence or live in an Apartment or a Condo We will still adopt to you, We will just ask how are you going to take him or her out, etc. This is required of all potential adopters. We are primarily looking at your fence to see if it will possibly contain these high-energy dogs. A six-foot, very secure fence, or a kennel, is usually required. If needed, we will ask you to repair the fence before we allow the dog to be brought to its new home.. We also want to see where the dog will sleep if you have items that need removing away from the fence (they use these as launching pads to get out), and we may recommend certain items in your home to be moved or removed, either for the dog’s health or the protection of your property.
Step 6: Adoption Contract
Once we have approved your home environment for this dog, you will be asked to sign the Adoption Contract. Once we receive the signed contract from you and the adoption fee, we will provide you with a completed copy of the contract, the dog's medical records, microchip information, and a starter doggie pack.

Adoption fees:

The standard adoption fee for puppies 5 months to a year old is $497
Woof Den Rescue will pull dogs from shelters with treatable medical conditions. We nurse them and get them the veterinary care they need while finding them homes. In recent times we have treated dogs for conditions ranging from torn knee ligaments, heartworm and hookworm, to broken bones and gunshot wounds.
There is an adoption fee which goes towards vaccinations, heartworm, spay/neutering, micro-chipping, and medical care if needed. Fees help with kenneling, food, collars, leashes, sometimes even toys, and possibly the use of a dog trainer to help with behavior problems. These fees all go towards helping the dogs. We are an all-volunteer organization, with no paid staff. You don’t get this kind of full service and care when “buying” a new dog. Your new dog will come to you altered, micro-chipped, and vaccinated. Now all you need to do is get ready to meet your new best “fur”ever friend.
Woof Den Rescue reserves the right to refuse to adopt.
